Blackmagic Design Announces the World’s First Commercial Camera System and Editing Software for Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro

Blackmagic Design today announced an end to end workflow for producing cinematic Apple Immersive Video for Apple Vision Pro. Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive is the world’s first commercial camera system designed to capture Apple Immersive Video. Apple Immersive Video is a brand-new storytelling format that leverages 8K, 3D video with a 180-degree field of view, and Spatial Audio to transport viewers to the center of the action. Blackmagic Design also announced updates to DaVinci Resolve, the industry-leading post-production software, that will give professional filmmakers the ability to edit Apple Immersive Video for the first time. Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive and a new version of DaVinci Resolve that supports Apple Immersive Video for Apple Vision Pro will be released later this year.

Meta’s The Faceless Lady VR Series Graded with DaVinci Resolve Studio

Blackmagic Design today announced that Supervising Colorist Jeff Sousa of Brooklyn, NY based post studio Dungeon Beach used DaVinci Resolve Studio for color grading “The Faceless Lady,” Meta’s first live action VR television series. With Los Angeles based post house Light Sail VR hosting the project, Sousa relied on Blackmagic Cloud to collaborate with the Light Sail VR team while grading six 22 minute episodes of 8K stereo content.

Blackmagic Design today announced that Light Sail VR used DaVinci Resolve Studio for visual effects (VFX) and online editing on Meta’s first live action VR television series, “The Faceless Lady.” Blackmagic Cloud was used to host the collaborative post production workflow, which included remote VFX artists from all over the US using DaVinci Resolve Studio’s Fusion page for advanced VFX and cleanup work.

Blackmagic Design Announces DaVinci Resolve 19 support for new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor!

Blackmagic Design today announced DaVinci Resolve 19 beta 3 now supports Qualcomm’s new all in one CPU, NPU and GPU processor for Windows, Snapdragon X Elite. DaVinci Resolve has been fine tuned to optimize performance of the DaVinci Neural AI Engine, with NPU acceleration giving customers up to 4.7x faster performance of AI tools such as magic mask and 2x faster performance for smart reframe on computers using this new processor. DaVinci Resolve 19 public beta 3 for Windows ARM using Snapdragon X Elite is available for download now from the Blackmagic Design web site.

Blackmagic Design Announces Blackmagic Cloud Live Sync!

Blackmagic Design today announced Blackmagic Cloud Sync, a new feature of Blackmagic Cloud storage that allows a camera to sync media into a DaVinci Resolve bin while the camera is recording. Within seconds the editors can see media arriving in real time and start editing, even while the camera continues to record. This is a revolution in broadcast workflows where the editors can see and edit with media, seconds after it's been recorded in a camera, from any location globally.
