Blackmagic Design today announced that more than 45 films and series at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival used its digital film cameras, DaVinci Resolve Studio grading, editing and finishing solution, Fusion Studio visual effects (VFX) and motion graphics software, Video Assist monitor and recorder, and other products throughout production and post production.

Science of Film: Science Art Cinema Film Festival Announces Call For Submissions (Festival Press Release)
The Science Art Cinema Film Festival, presented by the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, announced the first-ever edition will be held on April 27, 2017 at the museum’s Frost Planetarium in downtown Miami’s Museum Park. The festival is seeking submissions through February 14, 2017 for both short science and science fiction films influenced by art, as well as short art films influenced by science and science fiction. The call is open to both fiction and non-fiction efforts as well as live action and animation.
Colchester Film Festival is hosting its annual 60 hour Film Challenge from the 2nd to the 5th of October this year. Over 200 films were completed at last year's challenge. Filmmakers from across the world are challenged to write shoot and edit a film between 2 and 5 minutes in length in just 60 hours. The 9th Annual Orlando Film Festival wrapped up its run in downtown Orlando from October 22 through the 26th. Over 200 feature length films and shorts were showed, culled from over 1000 films submitted to festival organizers. The venue was the Cobb Plaza Cinema in downtown. Theatric releases continued to run in theaters 1 through 6, while festival films were shown in theaters 7 through 12.
