Award of SuperiorityThere’s a phrase that's become widely overused by everyone from Hollywood producers to backyard web series shooters: "Oh, don't worry about it, we'll just greenscreen that and worry about it later." (It’s the modern iteration of the more general production fatal phrase, “We’ll fix it in post!”) How many times have you said it? How many times had you woke up the day after production and realized the mistakes you made? Who lit this damn thing? Why can't I get a decent key without either that awful green edge or transparency inside my image? The answer is, if you aren't a seasoned pro at lighting greenscreen, it's not that easy! And the basic tools available through your NLE are usually just that…basic. Most often, you're going to need a more complete solution…and that's when you look to PHYX Keyer.

Ease of Use
We've had several reviews of plug ins available exclusively through Noise Industries’ plug in distribution platform, FxFactory. This is a must have for any Mac editor, and at a great price. It allows you to pick up new plug ins as they are developed, and even gives you the keys to allow you to create your own plug ins. PHYX Keyer is a part of FxFactory, so check out www.noiseindustries.com as well to find out more information. (Sorry PC folks, it’s only for Mac.)
