Russ (Eric Henninger) is a “Love Doctor.” He makes a living by giving relationship advice to his struggling clients. The problem, however, is that he has fallen for one of them – Megan (Sarah Matthews). When she calls him for advice on how to break up with the latest in her long string of boyfriends, he seizes the opportunity to tell her how he feels about her, but she just doesn’t seem to get the message.

Content
This is a pretty short movie, but it still does manage to tell quite a lot of story, even in a brief period of time, and also in basically two difference settings – Russ’ car and Megan’s house. The interaction between Russ and Megan was great – they certainly had a lot of chemistry and one could easily believe that the two characters were good friends.

I would have liked to hear a little bit more as far as Russ’ background, however. He gets a phone call from an unnamed client at the beginning of the film, and he does do a good job of selling his skill in a one-sided conversation, which is reinforced while talking with Megan later on, but I almost wanted to see a little more background on his character. Nothing too much as to lose the interest the comes from a short film, but maybe even hearing the person on the other side of the first phone conversation to give credence to Russ’ talents

Finally, one minor criticism in regard to Megan’s house – there were a few cutaways of multiple dating books that littered her living room. It was a great way to show that she was obviously on the lookout, but very much in need of Russ’ help. However, the books used appeared to have been covered with paper and had fake book jackets drawn on them with marker. While I’m sure this was done for copyright reasons, it did look pretty obviously fake. It’s pretty easy to make up fake book covers on Photoshop, which would have looked a lot better in this case.

Visual Look
This film was pretty visually sound. The interior of Megan’s house looked great, as did the cutaways. There weren’t any special effects or crazy camera moves, but anything like that in such a short amount of time would just have detracted from the film rather than added to it.
