This
is the Microfilmmaker Magazine Groups & Community
area. It's designed to help filmmakers share ideas and concepts
with other low-budget filmmakers and to help one another
out with experience and hard knocks. If you're new to filmmaking, ask any questions you want and someone'll try to get them answered for you! If you're experienced at filmmaking, ask any questions you want and we'll still try to get them answered for you!
There are a few Ground Rules that you must agree to in order to register and post in our Groups & Community area:

This
is a Real Names bulletin board, which means
you must use your first and last name for your login
name (ie JeremyHanke or JohnSmith). No cute pseudonyms
or funny names. People posting in this room are serious
filmmakers, not people who want to use goofy names so
they can mask their identities and spam the room. If
you post with a handle other than your name, your account will not be activated.

You
need to register in order to post comments or start
topics. Again, this is a community, where we get
to know one another. We can't get to know people named
'Anonymous.'

Don't
be afraid to ask questions, no matter how stupid you
feel they may sound. There are lots of new people
at this site and many of them probably have the same
questions you have. Additionally, the world of digital
filmmaking is so multifaceted that there are probably
many experienced filmmakers that would like to know
the answer, as well.

No
bashing or berating one another or one another's ideas.
Each of you is free to express your own opinions without
having someone rain on your parade. If you disagree
with someone, express your disagreements in a tactful
and non-explosive manner. If you can't do this, then
keep your mouth shut.

No
gossip or slander. Don't spread rumors in this community
about people, regardless of whether they regularly frequent
this room. If you want to spread rumors about new equipment
coming out, that's fine, but do your homework so you
don't look like an idiot. (I.e. The Grass Valley
Viper with ten prime lenses, a matte box,and a follow
focus isn't having a price drop to less than
$5,000.00!)
- No spam, flaming, or sexual chat. If you do these, you will be banned from the community section.
- Due to spam problems we've had associated with certain free email services, you cannot sign up for this bulletin board if you have an email account with email services like Cashette.com, Mail.ru, and Gawab.com. If you are a legitimate filmmaker who cannot obtain a free email at one of the less spam-prone email companies, please email us and we will make an exception for you.
(Note from the Administrator: All initial registrations are approved by an administrator. Because of the large quantity of spam signups we are currently receiving, our normal activation process is being delayed tremendously. that said, enjoy chatting in our community, offering your
opinions and experience, and asking for help.

aware, there are periodic contests and special links which
are posted solely in our Groups & Community Area, so be sure to check back often.
