ABOUT THE STARLITE FILM FESTIVAL
The Garden Theatre introduced the first-ever StarLite Film Festival in 2012 with an attendance of over 900 attendees, with 50% filmmaker representation including a visitor from Tajikistan. This one-of-a-kind micro-budget film festival promotes the screening and development of feature length narrative films that are produced, shot, and completed for a total budget of $200,000 or less. The film festival is named after the original StarLite Drive-in Theater built in 1949. The vintage outdoor cinema was built on seven acres near East Plant Street in Winter Garden, where Central Floridians watched films under starlit skies. The StarLite Drive-in Theater was the last operational drive-in theater in Central Florida until it closed in January of 1997. Visit StarliteFilmFest.com for more information.
