There is a feature film based on the short film called 9. It features sewn-up puppets facing a great adversary who is a mechanical beast. I have seen some short films interesting enough to develop into tv series or feature films. This feeling of mine started with watching short films from around the world on Sci Fi Channel's Exposure. Short films like Area 52, Je Dou and Frankenweenie, Battle Of The Sexes and The Balld Of Roger Mead to name a few. One short film Tripping The Rift went on to be a tv series and dvd movie. 9 was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con some time back, D.E.B.S is another short film that went on to become a film.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are short films that I have seen that I would not mind attempts being made for a tv series and/or a film or series of them.

Here are short films from the Sci Fi Channel's original programming "Exposure". A past television show for short films that started me on the road to watching them:

Battle Of The Sexes http://www.spike.com/video/battle-of-sexes/123756
Yeah. We know what women really do in the ladies' restroom.

Frankenweenie http://www.spike.com/video/battle-of-sexes/123756 part 1

When young Victor's pet dog Sparky (who stars in Victor's home-made monster movies) is hit by a car, Victor decides to bring him back to life the only way he knows how. But when the bolt-necked "monster" wreaks havoc and terror in the hearts of Victor's neighbors, he has to convince them (and his parents) that despite his appearance, Sparky's still the good loyal friend he's always been.

The Ballad of Little Roger Mead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc4YWHFwrCM A boy shows off his special talent.

Star Wars George Lucas in Love http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5058529870025933880 This is how George Lucas got his ideas for Star Wars.

405 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD4CH6QfBhg
The film shows a DC-10 jet making an emergency landing onto the 405 freeway in California, with the front part of the plane pinning a man's car to the road, forcing him to be pushed along by it until it comes to a stop. In the process of slowing down, the plane and the man's car almost hit an elderly woman driving slowly in her car, though she is oblivious to this fact.

An elementary school principal arrives at school to find a video tape that is sent from the "future". The tape is from Bobby, age 40. But in the present time, Bobby is in elementary school at the same school. The tape's message is incredible, but concise: Stop a school bus accident that will kill 50 students that are on a field trip. Written by Timothy Michael Earwood

A story of an elementary school principal who receives a video tape in the mail. An adult who claims to be the lone survivor from a class that perished in a terrible bus accident says he has sent the tape from the year 2018, hoping he could convince the principal to change the bus' route. The adult, Bobby Derrick, stayed home that day with a food allergy to mangos, so he wasn't on the bus. Written by Thomas M. Keppeler
