Hey guys,
In addition to keying, we've had lots of folks expressing interested in both 3D animation and compositing 3D elements into keyed footage. As such, in our July issue, we're planning to do standalone reviews of 3d software packages like Poser 7, as well as some articles about accessorizing your 3D packages to get the best bang for your buck. Then in either August or September, we'll do some roundup comparisons of 3D packages like Poser 7, modo 202, Daz Studio, Animation System 6.6, Lightwave 9, Gelato, and 3D Studio Max 9.
We'll even show you which 3D packages blend the best with live action footage! Plus, we'll reveal the best bang for you buck 3D animation pipeline for microfilmmakers!
As we get closer to summer, we'll be posting more information on this. Let us know if there are specific things you'd like us to check out as we get prepared for this series!

Hey guys,
We're going to be looking at some of the 3D packages we talked about in our upcoming July issue. The greenscreen/compositing shootout will still be slated for August, but the 3D shootout will probably be slated for September.

I would like to suggest that the Microfilmmaker Magazine consider doing a review of Hollywood Camera Work's newest set of training DVDs entitled Visual Effects for Directors. Per Holmes has put together a great course, which I have purchased and viewed. It demystifies a lot of things about green screen, 3D and virtual sets and animation.
Here is a link to a video trailer about the course:

Thank you for your consideration.

Gaines,
Actually, we are even now in the process of watching the series for our review. While we haven't yet set a review date, it should be in the next couple of months!
