I'm in the pre-productions of a feature film call "Stereo My Type" and it has a Scene that takes place in a night club, the question is:
Should I record the scene with the music playing on the background, or it will be easier to do it in post-production? |

Luis,
If you have any control of it, never record any music on set unless you are recording no dialogue at all. Stray music is almost impossible to filter out of voices, so you will definitely condemn yourself to redubbing the entire scene if you do this scene with music playing. If you have no dialogue, then you can let the music play and then replace it afterwards with the actual CD track you want, which can be adjusted to sound live.
Hope this helps,
