not sure where to pist this question so i posted in 2 different forums....

ok, just got magic bullet looks amazing but have one complaint. render time for 1 minute of video is 35 hours.......thought that wasn't right so we contacted them. their customer support really sucks. we're running a 3.5 gig pentium 4 processor with one gig of ram on windows xp with adobe premiere pro and after affects version 6. computer has been rock solid throughout all the editing of the movie, no glitches, freezes and whatnot. plus running 2 500 gig firewire drives for the video so the computer is only running the software. their customer support basically said our computer isn't strong enough to run magic bullet even though we far exceeded what their minimum requirements are. any help would surely be appreciated. we've heard nothing but great things about this software and are using it on our movie which is already guaranteed distribution. but we have 120 minutes to render and at 35 hours per minute it just sounds a little ridiculous.

Doing the math, that works out to 175 days of rendering for your 120-minute film! Shocked I have heard that Magic Bullet 2 is faster at rendering than the original version. Which do you have? I don't own either but have been looking at the software. However, if it's as slow as you say, I can't see why I should bother.

we just bought it so i imagine it's version 2 but i'll double check that. the render time is definately an issue and if i could only get someone on the phone that actually knows what he's talking about instead of just saying our computer sucks, we could probably fix this. but their customer support really sucks so far.

That's really disappointing to hear. Could your graphics card not be up to the task? (You didn't mention what card you have above.) Jeremy just reviewed MBS2, so hopefully he will add his comments about the render times. 35 hours for one minute is insane.

To simplify, I and Ryan Graham are answering that question at: http://www.microfilmmaker.com/comgroup/viewtopic.php?t=41
